The Brambles

Overview

Samson Space are proposing a new community building. The design takes inspiration from varied sources, including historic Moroccan architecture, traditional mosque architecture and the local context. The form of the building was designed within an envelope which respects the amenity of the neighbouring houses, and animated with a semi-circular cut out representing an inverted dome. The brick and concrete give a robust, solid feel. This sense of permanence is suitable for a structure which is intended to be a hub for the local community for a long time to come.
